Let Them Let Go, not you

Children are born innocent, but that doesn't mean that turmoil can't and wont affect their lives.  Children run into death, abuse, a broken family, divorced parents, bullying, hopelessness, and even issues with self-worth.  Sometimes it seems that there isn't much you can do when you've tried everything you can think of.  I've taken care of countless children in nurseries, through babysitting, assisting in classrooms, homeschooling, family, etc.  Sometimes something as simply as accepting a hug from a child can make a difference in their day, in an acceptable setting of course (some settings such as school could be deemed inappropriate if you are not a relative).  When accepting a hug, let the child let go first, unless they're just playing around.  You never know how much the child may have needed that hug.  We all deal with our own battles, even children.
